Mo’Bretta Rosé is a return to origin; a deep dive into our first expressions using raspberries. Grown abundantly in Santa Maria, the Maravilla Raspberry is regarded as a bright and sweet berry famous for its bold flavor. 2014 brought our first fruited Barrelworks release ever with the use of this fruit in Bretta Rosé. It’s been four years since we last brewed that beer, and to celebrate 2022, we felt the moment was right to resurrect one of our absolute favorites. Mo’Bretta Rosé combines four pounds per gallon of freshly-harvested Santa Maria raspberries with our 24-month-old foeder-matured Bretta Weisse Wild Ale. Beer and berries fused together for three months, manifesting bold fruit character magically transferred and enhanced by the presence of wild yeast. The result was packaged and gently bottle-conditioned with a champagne-like carbonation. Mo’Bretta Rose is the culmination of eight years of our work with local raspberries and we are thrilled to bring this beer to light once again.
